Lyricism

Lyricism, especially in artistic expression. Also, the lyric spirit that pursues it. A term derived from lyric poetry. While epic poems and plays express objective facts in terms of their objectivity and time, lyric poetry expresses inner emotions based on subjective experience or contemplation in terms of their state and present (eternal present). Therefore, the objects of nature, life and death, love, etc., which are the material of lyric poetry, tend to be transformed into symbols of these emotions, and are expressed directly through what TS Eliot called the first voice (the voice in which the poet speaks himself). Lyricism is the characteristic of highly artistic emotions that express the joys, anger, sorrows, and pleasures of real life in a sublimated form. This is evident in works of Romanticism, Symbolism, Impressionism, etc., but it is not only lyric poetry, but also other genres of poetry, novels, plays, movies, etc. that show the above-mentioned subjectivity, symbolism, and presentness.

抒情性，特に芸術的表現に伴う場合をいう。またこれを追求する抒情精神。抒情詩 lyric poetryから出た言葉。叙事詩や劇などが客観的事実をその対象性，時間性において表現するのに対し，抒情詩では主観的体験または思索に基づく内的感動がその状態性，現在 (永遠の現在) 性において表現されるため，その素材である自然，生死，愛などの対象もこの感動の象徴に転化する傾向があり，しかも T. S.エリオットのいう第1の声 (詩人がみずからに語る声) による直接的表現となっている。現実の生の喜怒哀楽が昇華した形で表出される高度に芸術的な感動の特質が抒情性と呼ばれるものである。これはロマン主義，象徴主義，印象主義などの作品に顕著にみられるが，抒情詩のみならず，上記の主観性，象徴性，現在性のみられる他のジャンルの詩，小説，劇，映画などにも含まれる。
