Luliang Mountains

Japanese: 呂梁山脈 - ろりょうさんみゃく

A mountain range that runs northeast to southwest between the Yellow River and Fen River in the western part of Shanxi Province in the North China region of China. It connects to the Guantian Mountains in the north and reaches Yumenkou in the southwest. It is about 400km long and has an elevation of 1500 to 2000m. Its main peak is the 2831m high Guandi Mountain, which towers over the Loess Plateau in western Shanxi Province. From the end of the Ming to the beginning of the Qing dynasty, this region was the site of peasant rebellion armies that barricaded themselves for decades, resisting the armed oppression of the Qing dynasty, and also formed a strong base for resistance to Japan during the Japanese invasion of China.
