Longjing (English spelling)

Japanese: 竜井 - りゅうせい（英語表記）Lóng jǐng

This spring is located in the mountains of Fenghuangling, southwest of West Lake in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. Together with the strangely shaped rocks and old trees that surround it, it has become a scenic spot that has been sung about in poetry and prose throughout history. Also called Longhong or Longshu, it was discovered during the Three Kingdoms period, and it is said that Ge Hong practiced alchemy here during the Jin Dynasty. Next to the spring is the Longjing Temple, which was built during the Five Dynasties. Also, from the Yuan Dynasty, tea plantations were opened in the nearby mountains, and it became known nationwide as a fine green tea under the name Longjing tea.

中国，浙江省杭州市の西湖南西，風篁嶺（ふうこうれい）の山中にある泉水であるが，周囲の奇岩古木とあいまって名勝の地となり，歴代の詩文にうたわれている。竜泓（りゆうおう），竜湫（りゆうしゆう）とも称し，すでに三国時代に発見され，晋には葛洪（かつこう）がここで練丹術を行ったという。泉水の傍には，五代に創建された竜井寺がある。また元代のころから，付近の山中に茶園が開かれ，竜井茶の名で緑茶の名品として全国に知られるようになった。
