The official name of the United Kingdom from when Ireland was annexed to the United Kingdom in 1801 until the establishment of the Irish Free State in 1922. The Act of Union of 1800 abolished the Irish Parliament from January 1 of the following year, and allowed the United Kingdom to send 100 members to the House of Commons and 28 members to the House of Lords.
