A perennial plant of the Primulaceae family native to Europe and the eastern United States. It is also called Euonymus japonica. It is often grown on stone walls and in rock gardens. It is cold-resistant, and does not require frost protection in winter even when grown outdoors. The stem crawls along the ground, growing 60cm in all directions in a year, and roots where it touches the ground, covering the ground. The leaves are opposite, pointed and round, with a diameter of 1.5cm. In June and July, a beautiful bright yellow gamopetalous flower blooms in each axil. The corolla is star-shaped with five deep lobes, and is about 2cm in diameter. If you cut a stolon from the parent plant and lay it on the ground immediately after flowering, it will easily root and propagate. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
