Risan

This mountain rises as the foreland of the Qinling Mountains, south of the Wei River Plain in central Shaanxi Province, China. It is located 25 km east of Xi'an and south of Lintong County. The highest point is 1,302 meters above sea level, and there are two peaks, Dongxiuling and Xixiuling. Due to its beautiful scenery and surrounding historical ruins, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Xi'an area. In particular, "Evening Lights on Mount Li" is considered one of the Eight Scenic Views of Guanzhong. There are hot springs at the foot of the mountain, and villas were built by successive dynasties whose capital was Chang'an, but the most famous is the Huaqing Palace, which was built by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty for Yang Guifei.

中国、陝西(せんせい)省中部、渭河(いが)平原の南に、秦嶺(しんれい)山脈の前山としてそびえる山。西安(せいあん)の東25キロメートル、臨潼(りんとう)県城の南にある。最高所は標高1302メートル、東繍嶺(とうしゅうれい)と西繍嶺の2峰がある。美しい風景と周辺にある歴史的遺跡によって、西安付近での有数の観光地となっている。とくに「驪山晩照」は関中八景の一つとされる。山麓(さんろく)には温泉があり、長安に都を置いた歴代の王朝の離宮が設けられたが、唐の玄宗(げんそう)皇帝が楊貴妃(ようきひ)のためにつくったという華清宮(かせいきゅう)は有名である。
