[Born] Revelation 2 (1622) [Died] After the 45th year of the Kangxi era (1706), he was the first literati painter of the Qing Dynasty in China. He was from Ningdu (Jiangxi Province) and lived in Nanchang. His style was Fanniu and his pen name was Yun'an. He spent his life as an independent painter, and was skilled in poetry, calligraphy, and painting, as well as tea making. He excelled in landscape painting, and perfected a unique style with his clear brushstrokes and ink colors, and was called the founder of the Jiangxi school.
