Rakuto Flora

Japanese: 洛東植物群 - らくとうしょくぶつぐん

A general term for fossil plants found in the Sindong Group (96 to 140 million years ago, formerly known as the Nakdong Series) of the lower Gyeongsang Supergroup (Cretaceous), which is widely distributed in the Nakdong River basin in South Gyeongsang Province, Korea. This flora was first recognized in 1886 by C. Gotsche, and studied by Nagakatsu Yagi in 1905. Its composition is horsetails, ferns, cycads, ginkgoes, and broad-leaved cones, and is almost identical to that of the Tetori flora in Japan, but it has not yet been fully elucidated due to the poor state of preservation of the fossils.

韓国の慶尚南道の洛東江流域に広く分布する慶尚累層群(白亜系)下部の新洞層群(9600万～1億4000万年前。かつては洛東統と呼ばれた)に含まれる化石植物の総称。この植物群は，はじめ1886年C.ゴッチェによって認められ，1905年矢部長克によって研究された。その組成は，トクサ類，シダ類，ソテツ類，イチョウ類および広葉球果類からなり，日本の手取植物群の組成にほぼ一致するが，化石の保存状態が悪いため，まだ十分に解明されていない。
