Northern Gorodnaya Steppe

…In Russian, it is called the Golodnaya steppe' (Hunger steppe). There is a region of the same name in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and when distinguishing it from this, it is called the Severnaya Golodnaya steppe'. It is bordered in the east by Lake Balkhash and the Kazakh plateau, and in the west by the Sarisu River.
