Born: Around 1567. Omi, Otari [Died] May 8, 1615. A concubine of Toyotomi Hideyoshi of Osaka. Her name was Chacha, and she was later called Yododono, Nishinomarudono, and Ninomarudono. She was the eldest daughter of Azai Nagamasa, a military commander in Omi. Her mother was Oichi (→Odani no Kata), the younger sister of Oda Nobunaga. In 1573, when Odani Castle in Azai County was attacked and fell to Oda Nobunaga, she escaped with her mother and two younger sisters and returned to Kiyosu Castle in Owari. In 1576, her mother Oichi remarried to Shibata Katsuie, and she followed him to Kitanosho Castle in Echizen, but the following year Kitanosho was attacked and fell to Hashiba Hideyoshi, and Shibata Katsuie was destroyed, and her mother was killed in the process. She escaped again with her two younger sisters and was protected by Hideyoshi, and in 1577, she became Hideyoshi's concubine, moved to Yodo Castle in the mountains, and was called Yodo no Nyobo. Around Bunroku 1 (92), she moved to the Ninomaru of Osaka Castle and was called Ninomarudono. In the 2nd year of the same year, she gave birth to a son, O-Hiroi (later Hideyori), and soon after moved to the Nishinomaru of Fushimi Castle and was called Nishinomarudono. In Keicho 8 (1603), Senhime, born to Tokugawa Hidetada and Kogo, married Hideyori, and in the 10th year of the same year, Hidetada became Shogun and Hideyori became Minister of the Right. In the 19th year of the same year, the incident of the inscription on the bell occurred during the construction of the Great Buddha Hall of Hoko-ji Temple in Kyoto, and then the Winter Siege of Osaka occurred. In Genna 1 (15), a peace agreement was reached between the East and the West, but then the Summer Siege occurred, and finally Osaka Castle fell, Yodo-dono and Hideyori committed suicide, and the Toyotomi clan was destroyed.
