Yoshiumi [town] - Yoshiumi

Japanese: 吉海[町] - よしうみ

A former town in Ochi County in northern Ehime Prefecture. It occupies the southern half of Oshima Island, including Tsushima Island to the west, and faces Imabari City across the Kurushima Strait. In addition to cultivating citrus and other fruits and vegetables, the town produces granite stone and engages in fishing. There is a ferry boat between the town and Imabari City. In January 2005, it was incorporated into Imabari City along with the villages of Tamagawa, Namikata, Onishi, Kikuma, Miyakubo, Hakata, Kamiura, Omishima, Sekimae, and Asakura in Ochi County. ^{27.71 km2} . 4,781 people (2003).

愛媛県北部，越智(おち)郡の旧町。大島の南半部を占め，西方の津島を含み，来島(くるしま)海峡を隔てて今治(いまばり)市に対する。ミカン類などの果樹・野菜栽培を行うほか，花コウ岩の石材を産し，漁業も営む。今治市との間にフェリーボートが通じる。2005年１月越智郡玉川町，波方町，大西町，菊間町，宮窪町，伯方町，上浦町，大三島町，関前村，朝倉村と今治市へ編入。27.71km²。4781人（2003）。
