1652?-1722? A Chinese calligrapher of the early Qing dynasty. His pen name was Keshi, and his pen names were Dabiao and Kofu. He was from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. At the age of 13, his parents were exiled to Ningguta (Ning'an, Heilongjiang Province), so he grew up in hardship. At the age of 40, he returned to his parents and spent several months caring for them, and later welcomed his father's coffin and his mother back. People called him Yang Xiaozi and praised his deep filial piety. He was skilled in literature and was well versed in the Book of Han and Du Shi. He studied stone tablet calligraphy such as the Huangtingjing and Preface to the Sacred Teachings. He was not tainted by the customs of the Song and Yuan dynasties, and became famous.
