(1) The monovalent group H ₂ NCONH- obtained by removing one hydrogen atom from urea (H ₂ N) ₂ CO. In English, it is called ureido. It is also called carbamide. (2) A general term for compounds in which the hydrogen atom of urea (H ₂ N) ₂ CO is replaced with an acyl group RCO-. In English, it is called ureide. It is also called acylurea. Monoacylurea RCONHCONH ₂ and diacylurea (RCONH) ₂ CO are known. Many cyclic ureides are important compounds involved in physiological actions, such as alloxan, uracil, uric acid, and the typical hypnotic barbital (diethylbarbituric acid).

(1)尿素(H₂N)₂COの水素1原子を除いて得られる1価の基H₂NCONH－のこと。英語ではureido。カルバミドcarbamideともいう。(2)尿素(H₂N)₂COの水素原子をアシル基RCO－で置換した化合物の総称。英語ではureide。別名アシル尿素acylurea。モノアシル尿素RCONHCONH₂とジアシル尿素(RCONH)₂COが知られている。環状ウレイドの中には生理作用にかかわる重要な化合物が多く，アロキサン，ウラシル，尿酸，また代表的な催眠剤バルビタール(ジエチルバルビツール酸)などがその例である。
