Map of the fields of Kado County, Yamashiro Province

Japanese: 山城国葛野郡班田図 - やましろのくにかどのぐんはんでんず

A map of nine ri of rice fields in Kazuno County, Yamashiro Province. All nine ri correspond to the first and second rows of the jori grid in the same county. It is known that the first and second rows of the jori grid in the Sagano area of the same county (north of the Katsura River) have a plan that is tilted about 16 degrees to the west, unlike other jori grids that are oriented exactly north-south. Six of the nine ri of rice fields correspond to this jori area that is tilted about 16 degrees to the west. The local identification has been studied for a long time and is now almost certain. This map is thought to have been copied in 1101 (Kowa 3) from a field map from 828 (Tencho 5).

山城国葛野郡のうちの9ヵ里の田図。この9ヵ里はいずれも同郡の条里の1条，2条に比定されている。同郡の嵯峨野付近(桂川以北)の1条，2条は正南北の方位をもつ他の条里と異なり，約16度西に傾いたプランをもつことが知られているが，この9ヵ里の田図のうち6ヵ里はこの約16度西に傾いた条里地域に比定されている。現地比定は古くから研究され，現在ほぼ確定されている。本図は828年(天長5)の班田図を1101年(康和3)に書写したものと考えられている。
