Yadava Dynasty - Yadavacho (English spelling)

A dynasty in South India. From the end of the 12th century to the beginning of the 14th century, it ruled the northwestern Deccan region with its capital in Devagiri. The ancestors of the royal family were vassals of the Chalukya dynasty of Kalyani, and the dynasty is also called the Savena dynasty because it owned the Savena region. It was Bimala at the end of the 12th century that fought against the Chalukya dynasty, gained independence, and established its capital in Devagiri. After capturing Kalyani, it fought against the Hoysala dynasty, which had expanded its power in the southern Deccan. Its power expanded further during the reign of Singana in the first half of the 13th century, and its territory reached the Narmada River in the north and the Tungabhadra River in the south. However, it weakened after being invaded by the Khilji dynasty of Delhi at the end of the 13th century, and its king was captured and it was destroyed in the early 14th century. Its prime minister in the second half of the 13th century, Hemadri, was also famous as a scholar.
