[1] [noun] Water that has medicinal properties. *Toraakirahon Kyogen: Medicinal Water (late Muromachi period - early modern period) "The crowds of nobles and common people gathered together to drink the medicinal water." [2] Kyogen. Various schools. It is a substitute for the Noh play "Yoro", but it can also be performed independently. The story is about a grandfather living in Motosu , Mino Province, who goes to drink from a spring of the elixir of immortality that springs up in the nearby mountains and becomes young again. However, in the Izumi school, the story ends with the grandfather drinking three cups and his back straightening out, while in the Okura and Sagi schools, the story ends with the grandfather drinking too much and becoming an infant. The Sagi school's "Yoro Water" and "Kikusui Soji" are similar pieces that deal with the same theme.Medicinal waterSource: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
