Wulfenite, powellite, lindgrenite, etc. are minerals composed of the complex anion (MoO 4 ) 2- and cations. Wulfenite (also called molybdenum lead ore) PbMoO 4 is a tetragonal yellow to reddish brown square plate crystal with clear cleavage on {011}. It is almost transparent and has a resinous or diamond-like luster. Mohs hardness is 2.5-3, specific gravity is 6.5-7. Tungsten replaces about half of the molybdenum and forms a partial solid solution with wolframite PbWO 4 , which has the same crystal structure.
