Envoys from the Nara period. In 758, they were dispatched to the capital, the Tokai region, the Tosan region, the Hokuriku region, the San'in region, the San'yo region, the Nankai region, and the Saikai region to inspect the conditions of the people. They appointed officials of the fifth and sixth ranks, and also included judges and recorders. They are said to have been involved in reducing the burden on farmers and providing relief for the poor and sick. 奈良時代の使節。天平宝字2 (758) 年に民情視察のため,京畿内,東海,東山,北陸,山陰,山陽,南海,西海の道ごとに派遣された。五,六位の官人が任じられ,判官 (じょう) ,録事が加えられた。農民の負担の軽減,貧病者の救済などにあたったという。
