Japanese: 持田古墳群 - もちだこふんぐん

The Mochida Tomb Group consists of nine keyhole-shaped tombs and 58 circular tombs clustered in Mochida, Takanabe Town, Koyu County, on the plateau on the eastern bank of the mouth of the Komaru River, which flows southeast through almost the center of Miyazaki Prefecture. Of the keyhole-shaped tombs, those with a long, slender handle-shaped mirror-shaped front section are found on the edge of the plateau closer to the Komaru River, and Hakarizuka (Mochida No. 1), located at the northwest end, is the largest of the group, with a total length of 53m, a circular rear section with a diameter of 30m and a front section with a width of 20m. Meanwhile, those with more developed front sections are found closer to the center of the plateau, and circular tombs are also abundant here.

宮崎県のほぼ中央を南東流する小丸川の河口東岸の台地上，児湯郡高鍋町持田に群在する前方後円墳9基，円墳58基を総称して持田古墳群と呼ぶ。前方後円墳のうち，前方部の細長い柄鏡（えかがみ）形のものは小丸川寄りの台地縁辺部にあり，なかでも北西端に位置する計（はかり）塚(持田1号)は，全長53m，後円部径30m，前方部幅20mで，群中最大の規模をもつ。一方，前方部の発達したものは台地中央寄りにあり，円墳もまたここに多い。
