...These include the construction of Amagase Dam (1964), the relocation of the Nango Araiseki, and the dredging of the Seta River, and the flow rate is regulated by Amagase Dam and the Nango Araiseki. The river has a total generating capacity of 590,000 kW, consisting of the Uji Power Station (maximum output 32,500 kW), Amagase Power Station (92,000 kW), and the pumped-storage Kisenyama Power Station (466,000 kW, all built in 1997). The midstream forms a gorge called the Uji River Line, but the rapids of the past are no longer seen after the completion of Amagase Dam.
