This is a collection of excerpts from Mao Zedong's writings. It was originally compiled as a study text for Mao Zedong's ideology for Chinese People's Liberation Army soldiers, and was never made public. With the start of the Cultural Revolution, this was sold as a pamphlet with a red vinyl cover, and quickly spread throughout the country. People shook it up and read it aloud. However, with the end of the Cultural Revolution, this simplistic and pragmatic approach of cutting out fragments of ideology was rejected as a kind of policy to keep the people ignorant.
