A machine that uses needles such as latch needles, whisker needles, and pipe needles to knit knitted loops to make knitted fabrics and products. There are weft knitting machines and warp knitting machines, and the tricot knitting machine is a typical example of the latter. The first foot-operated stocking knitting machine was invented by W.
