Born: 1693/1695. Turin [Died] July 31, 1750. Born in Paris, Italy, he was a French architect, interior decorator, sculptor, painter, and goldsmith. He studied in Italy and was influenced by the Baroque architect Francis Borromini. He was one of the founders of the Rococo style, and was appointed goldsmith to Louis XV in 1724 and designer of the king's bedroom and cabinets in 1726. In 1728, he created the first Rococo design with a chandelier for the king's bedroom. As an architect, he designed the façade of the Saint-Sulpice Cathedral in Paris (1726).
