Mega

[ I ] mega. Unit prefix (SI prefix). ^106. Symbol M. [ II ] Megger. This refers to an insulation resistance tester, and Mega is the product name. They have a built-in hand-cranked generator or power supply voltage, and are made to generate voltages such as 100, 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 V. These high voltages are actually applied to the insulator being measured to measure the insulation resistance. At high voltages, insulation resistance is not constant but depends on the voltage, so it is necessary to test at a voltage that the equipment will actually be used at, and so devices like this are used.

【Ⅰ】mega．単位の接頭語(SI接頭語)．10⁶．記号 M．【Ⅱ】Megger．絶縁抵抗計のことで，メガは商品名である．手まわし発電機または電源電圧を内蔵し，100，250，500，1000，2000 V などの電圧を発生するものがつくられている．このような高い電圧を実際に被測定絶縁体に印加して絶縁抵抗が測定される．絶縁抵抗は高電圧になると一定ではなく，電圧に依存するので，現実に機器が使用される程度の電圧で試験をする必要があり，このような装置が利用される．
