Kinosuke Otani - Kinosuke Otani

...A military commander in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. He was originally called Kinosuke. He served Toyotomi Hideyoshi closely, and participated in the battles of Shizugatake, Kyushu, and Odawara, achieving military success. He played an active role in both military and administrative matters in the Toyotomi government, serving as the land survey magistrate of the Mutsu region and as a military supervisor during the Bunroku Invasion. In 1585 (Tensho 13), he was appointed as a junior fifth rank and a junior assistant to the Ministry of Justice. In 1589, he was given the fief of 50,000 koku in Tsuruga, Echizen. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he was killed in battle after being attacked from behind by Kobayakawa Hideaki, who had betrayed the Eastern Army. [Takagi Yotaro]...
