Mughal miniature painting - Mughal miniature painting
Miniature painting, which originated from Persian miniature painting, was produced in the courts of the Mughal Empire in India. The subject matter was secular and realistic, and the drawing technique was realistic, which contrasts sharply with Rajput painting of the same period. In the early period, painters from the Tabriz school of the Safavid dynasty in Persia were invited to the country, and many illustrated manuscripts were brought, and they absorbed the techniques of Persian miniature painting. During the reign of the third emperor, Akbar (reigned 1556-1605), Indian painters gradually came to assume leading positions, and Indian tendencies became stronger, leading to the distinctive style of Mughal painting becoming more clearly defined.
