Myricyl Alcohol

Chemical formula: CH 3 (CH 2 ) 29 OH. Also known as 1-triacontanol. A straight-chain saturated alcohol with 30 carbon atoms. It exists naturally in carnauba wax and beeswax, either in its free form or as an ester of palmitic acid, and in the alcohol of wool fat. Its melting point is 86.5°C. The straight-chain saturated alcohol with 31 carbon atoms, CH 3 (CH 2 ) 30 OH, contained in beeswax is called melissyl alcohol (1-hentriacontanol) and has a melting point of 85.9°C. 化学式CH3(CH2)29OH。1‐トリアコンタノールともいう。炭素数30の直鎖飽和アルコール。天然には，遊離状またはパルミチン酸などのエステルとしてカルナウバ蠟，蜜蠟中に，また羊毛脂のアルコール中に存在する。融点86.5℃。なお，蜜蠟中に含まれる炭素数31の直鎖飽和アルコールCH3(CH2)30OHはメリシルアルコールmelissyl alcohol(1‐ヘントリアコンタノール)といい，融点は85.9℃。
