There are ancient tombs called Miyayama in various places, and many of them are named because they are located behind the shrine of a local deity. The Himeji Miyayama Tomb (Hyogo Prefecture) and Muro Miyayama Tomb (Nara Prefecture) are famous. [Himeji Miyayama Tomb] A circular tomb from the late 5th century located in Sakamoto, Shigo-cho, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. It is located at the tip of a ridge extending from a mountain hill on the east bank of the Ichikawa River at an altitude of 35m, and is about 30m in diameter, surrounded by a row of cylindrical haniwa clay figures. The tomb was excavated twice in 1969 and 1972, and the existence of three pit-type stone chambers with their long axes running east to west was discovered.
