In the broad sense, the service industry is a general term for industries that provide intangible goods such as transportation, communications, commerce, finance, public service, freelance work, and barbering. It has roughly the same scope as the tertiary industry, and when the economy reaches a certain stage of development, the proportion of this sector in the gross national product increases. Recently, it has become increasingly important due to the development of the information industry. In the narrow sense, the service industry is narrower and refers to industries such as goods rental, cleaning, hotels, entertainment, broadcasting, and medical care. → Related items Service trade | Leisure industry Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
