In the late Sengoku period, the three generals, Yoshimichi Inaba (Ittetsu), Morinari Ando (Michiashi), and Naomoto Ujiie (Bokuzen), who established a common independent force in the western part of Mino Province, were known as the Seino Sanninshu. They are said to have served the Toki and Saito clans, but in 1567, they cooperated with Oda Nobunaga in his attack on Gifu and were granted full sway over their territories.
