A scenic spot located on the west coast near the tip of Cape Chihiro in the west of Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture. Like Tatsukushi at the base of the cape, the sandstone of the Tertiary Period has been eroded by the sea and wind, forming a variety of comb-like and honeycomb-like strange rocks and natural features due to differences in rock quality. It is said that the name comes from the fact that Kobo Daishi also left it there. The fossil traces at the tip of the cape are also a national natural monument. Colonies of reef-building corals have also formed in the nearby waters, and together with Tatsukushi, they form part of Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park.
