Born: April 5, 1875 in Enghien-les-Bains
[Died] January 5, 1956. Bourgeois. French comedienne and singer. Her real name was Jeanne-Marie Bourgeois. She made her debut in 1895, and in 1907 was chosen to play the leading role at the Moulin Rouge, a music hall in Paris. In the 1920s she was a big star in revues, and continued to play the queen of Parisian music halls, full of the atmosphere of the working-class neighborhood, until 1951. Her repertoire included Sa C'est Paris and Mo Nomme. She is the author of Mistinguette, Queen of the Paris Night (1954).
