Turnbuckle - Turn buckle

Turnbuckle - Turn buckle

A type of fastener used to tighten and eliminate slack in steel cables stretched between two points. There are threaded rods on the left and right, and the threaded parts are connected with a common nut. The male threads on one side are right-handed and the male threads on the other are left-handed. When the female threaded part, i.e. the nut, is rotated, the two male threads move closer to each other, and when the rotation is reversed, they move apart. If a turnbuckle is placed between the pillars of a structure and the supporting steel cables, the cables can be tightened by rotating it.
