Mr. Mikami

Japanese: 三上氏 - みかみうじ

A medieval samurai family based in Mikami, Yasu County, Omi Province. For generations, they were powerful vassals of the Rokkaku clan, the warlords of Omi and feudal lords of the Warring States period, and Genmyo played an active role as a magistrate during the Nanboku-cho period. From the latter half of the Muromachi period to around the Eisho era (1504-21) of the Warring States period, the Rokkaku clan's territory was supported by the Iba clan, who were deputy shugo, but after the Iba clan was destroyed in two rebellions, the Rokkaku clan established a magistrate system and the magistrates took the lead in ruling the territory. Echigo no Kami Yorian's name appears on many magistrates' joint letters of office from the Meiō to Kyoroku eras (1492-1532), and he was one of the most powerful vassals.

中世の武家。近江国野洲郡三上を本拠とした。代々，近江の守護，戦国大名六角氏の有力家臣で，南北朝期には玄妙が奉行人として活躍した。室町期後半から戦国期の永正年間(1504‐21)ごろまで六角氏領国は守護代伊庭（いば）氏が支えていたが，伊庭氏が2度の反乱で滅びると，六角氏は奉行人体制を確立し，領国支配は奉行人を中心に行われた。越後守頼安は明応～享禄年間(1492‐1532)に多数の奉行人連署奉書にその名が見え，最有力の重臣の一人であった。
