A town in northeastern South Sudan. It is located about 690 km south of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, on the right bank of the White Nile, just downstream of the confluence of the Sobat River. Livestock such as cattle, sheep, and goats are raised, and cotton, peanuts, corn, and sesame are cultivated. There is a livestock medical research institute. Population: 72,000 (estimated). 南スーダン北東部にある町。スーダンの首都ハルツームの南約 690km，ソバト川が合流する地点のすぐ下流部，ホワイトナイル川右岸に位置する。ウシ，ヒツジ，ヤギなどの牧畜や，ワタ，ナンキンマメ，トウモロコシ，ゴマなどの栽培が行なわれる。家畜医療研究所がある。人口 7万2000（推計値）。
