River regime coefficient

This is the ratio between the maximum and minimum flow rates of a river throughout the year. The closer this ratio is to 1, the better the river conditions are. Values reported include about 8 for the River Thames (London), 34 for the Seine (Paris), 67 for the Yodo River (Hirakata), and 223 for the Kitakami River (Tome). In rivers in dry regions such as deserts, the river condition coefficient is significantly larger because drought flows are small. Source: Asakura Publishing Dictionary of Laws Information |

ある河川の年間を通じての最大流量と最小流量との比．この比が1に近いほど「河況が良好である」という．テームズ川（ロンドン）では8ぐらい，セーヌ川（パリ）では34，淀川（枚方）67，北上川（登米）223などの値が報告されている．砂漠など乾燥地域の川では，渇水時流量が小さいため，河況係数は著しく大きな値となる．
