This hot spring is located in Yubara Town, Maniwa County, Okayama Prefecture. It springs from a cliff along the Asahi River at the southern foot of Mt. Hitsugayama, and is part of the Yubara Onsen Village. It is a simple hot spring, 41°C. It is said that during the Keicho era (1596-1614), when Iwasa Masachika, the lord of Utsupurui in Izumo Province, prayed for a cure, a white-haired old man told him about it and discovered it. During the Edo period, it was a public bath for the Tsuyama Domain. The number of visitors increased after the opening of the JR Kishin Line in 1936. There is a public bath carved into the natural rock. Nearby is Kanba Falls (109m high, 15m wide), and on the opposite bank is Ashitaru Onsen (simple hot spring, 37°C).
