A type of Austrian skiing technique invented by H. Schneider. It was an excellent technique for skiing down steep mountainous terrain, and laid the foundation for alpine skiing. Schneider opened a ski school in St. Anton in 1909, and contributed to the spread of skiing. He came to Japan in 1930 and taught in various parts of the country.
