Japanese: 嵐子 - あらしこ
Arashiko - Arashiko

...A type of servant of a samurai in the Sengoku and Edo periods. Also written as arashinko. In 1591 (Tensho 19), Toyotomi Hideyoshi's social status control order states, "Servants, samurai, middle-ranking servants, servants, and arashinko have become townspeople and farmers since the Oshu E invasion last July" (Kobayakawa family documents).
