Pothos (English name) Epipremnum aureum

Pothos (English name) Epipremnum aureum
It is a climbing herb of the Araceae family, and is said to be native to the Solomon Islands, but there are many unknowns about it. It is one of the most widely distributed potted plants as an ornamental plant. It was once classified as a member of the Pothos genus , so it is sold under the name Pothos. The leaves are heart-shaped, with petioles, and alternate. They are deep green with light yellow irregular spots. When cultivated in a pot, the leaves are about 10-15 cm long, but when growing wild, they wrap around large trees and can grow to 30-40 cm. In addition to the 'Golden Pothos' with deep yellow spots, there are other varieties available, such as the 'Lime' with lime yellow leaves and the 'Marble Queen' with white spots. It is generally grown by wrapping it around staghorn fern or in a hanging pot. It is very shade-tolerant, making it suitable for indoor cultivation. It is suitable for high temperatures and humidity, and is relatively cold-resistant, overwintering at temperatures above 5°C. It can be easily propagated by cuttings.
