Eternal Realization - Kuonjitsujo
The Lotus Sutra teaches that the Shakyamuni who attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya in history was a temporary figure, and that the true Shakyamuni was the one who actually attained enlightenment and attained Buddhahood a long, long time ago and has continued to teach people ever since. Also called the Eternal Original Buddha or the Beginningless Ancient Buddha, it is one of the important doctrines of the Tendai and Nichiren sects. In Pure Land Buddhism, Amida Buddha who attained Buddhahood ten kalpas ago is called the Eternal True Amida Buddha.
