[1] A political party that takes a conservative stance. *Tsubouchi Shoyo, Dreams of a Future Where People Live in the Inland (1886), vol. 10, "The way the Conservative Party was defeated was extremely amusing." [2] [1] A British political party. Formed around 1830 as the successor to the Tories. It took turns in power with the Liberal Party. At the end of the 19th century, it promoted imperialist policies. After World War I, it was in conflict with the Labour Party and developed into a two-party state. [2] A German political party ( 1876-1918 ). A political party that supported the German Empire (Second Reich) along with the Liberal Conservative Party. The National People's Party was its successor.

[1] 保守主義を政治上の立場とする党派。ほうしゅとう。※内地雑居未来之夢（1886）〈坪内逍遙〉一〇「保守党(ホシュトウ)の敗北した塩梅なんざア、実に愉快極ったぜ」[2][一] イギリスの政党。一八三〇年ごろからトーリー党の後身として形成された。自由党と交替で政権を担当。一九世紀末には帝国主義政策を推進した。第一次世界大戦後は労働党と対立して二大政党政治を展開している。[二] ドイツの政党（一八七六‐一九一八）。自由保守党とともにドイツ帝国（第二帝政）を支えた政党。国家人民党はその後身。
