Ruins of Muyangcheng - Muyangcheng Ruins (English)

Japanese: 牧羊城遺跡 - ぼくようじょういせき（英語表記）Mù yáng chéng yí zhǐ

The remains of an ancient castle from the Warring States period to the Han dynasty, located at the western foot of Laotieshan Mountain, southwest of Lüshun District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China. It is believed to be the county seat of Zushi County, Liaodong County, which was established here during the Western Han dynasty. In 1912, Hamada Kosaku conducted a general survey and a small-scale partial excavation, but in 1928, Harada Yoshito and others from the East Asian Archaeological Society conducted a full-scale excavation. The castle site is rectangular in plan, measuring approximately 120m north to south and 80m east to west, with large and small stone blocks placed at the base of the castle walls, and earthen walls built on top of them. The interior of the castle is flat, and what appear to be stone paving and cornerstones, remnants of architectural remains, have been discovered.

中国，遼寧省大連市旅順区南西の老鉄山西麓にある戦国時代から漢代にかけての古城址。前漢代にこの地に置かれた遼東郡沓氏県治に比定されている。1912年に浜田耕作が一般調査と部分的な小発掘を行っているが，28年になって東亜考古学会の原田淑人らによって本格的な発掘調査が行われた。平面長方形の南北約120m，東西約80mの城址で，城壁の基底部に大小の石塊を置き，その上に土壁を築く。城内は平たんで，建築遺構の残りと思われる石畳や礎石らしいものが発見されている。
