Sand-blocking forest - Bousarin
The correct term is sand-blowing protection forest. It is a forest mainly found in coastal areas to prevent damage to farmland and houses caused by sand blowing, and to prevent the movement of sand dunes. It is sometimes designated as a conservation forest. It is planted with strong tree species that are resistant to salt winds and temperature changes. In Japan, black pine, Japanese spindle tree, black locust, Japanese laurel, and Japanese laurel are often used.

正しくは飛砂防備林。おもに海岸地帯で飛砂による耕地や家屋の被害防止,砂丘の移動などを防ぐ森林。保安林に指定されることもある。強健で,塩風や温度変化などに対する抵抗性の強い樹種により造林する。日本ではクロマツ,ハイネズ,ニセアカシア,アキグミなどが多く使われる。
