George II - George
King of England (reigned 1727-1760). Son of George I. Like his father, he was born in Germany, so he left domestic affairs to Walpole and Pitt the Elder. He personally led the army in the War of the Austrian Succession, defeating the French in 1743. England was troubled by the Jacobite rebellions.
