Taireinogi (Great Ceremony) (English: Da-li; Ta-li)

A political struggle in China during the reign of Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty (1521-66). Emperor Zhengde, the son of Emperor Hongzhi, had no children or brothers, so by imperial decree his younger brother King Xingxian's son Houzong was installed as Emperor Jiajing. However, a dispute arose over the rites and title of King Xingxian's birth father. The great scholar Yang Tinghe and others requested that Emperor Hongzhi be called Huangbo (father) and King Xingxian be called Imperial Uncle, but the emperor was not pleased. Meanwhile, Gui Ge and others, who agreed with the emperor's wishes, requested that Emperor Hongzhi be called uncle. The matter was eventually settled with Emperor Hongzhi as Huangbo (uncle) and King Xingxian as Huangbo (uncle), but for four years the court was divided and in turmoil.

中国，明の嘉靖帝時代 (1521～66) の政争。弘治帝の子正徳帝には子も兄弟もなかったので，遺詔により弘治帝の弟興献王の子厚そうが迎立されて嘉靖帝となったが，その生父興献王の祭礼と尊号をめぐって紛議が生じた。大学士楊廷和らは嘉靖帝に弘治帝を皇考 (父) ，興献王を皇叔父と称するように上言したが帝はこれを喜ばず，一方帝の意をくんだ桂萼らは弘治帝を伯父の関係とすべしと上言した。結局弘治帝を皇伯考 (伯父) ，興献王を皇考とすることで決着したが，その間4年にわたり廷論は2分され，紛糾した。
