Also known as the HD Catalogue for short. This star catalogue lists the spectral classification types of 225,000 stars in the entire sky with magnitude 9 or higher. It was published as the Harvard College Observatory Annual Bulletin Vols. 91-99 from 1918 to 1924, and later 134,000 stars were added as HDE. It is the original source of spectral classification, and the numbers in the catalogue are used as the names of the stars. Observations were made at the Harvard College Observatory and its branch office in Peru using a refracting telescope with an objective prism, and A. J. Cannon was responsible for measuring 2,100 dry plates to determine the classification types of the stars.

略してHD星表ともいう。全天の9等以上の恒星22.5万個のスペクトル分類型を記載した星表で，ハーバード大学天文台の年報第91～99巻として1918‐24年に出版，のちに13.4万個をHDEとして追加した。スペクトル分類の原典であり，カタログ記載の番号は星の名まえとして用いられている。観測はハーバード大学天文台とペルーの出張所とで対物プリズム付きの屈折望遠鏡によって撮影し，その乾板2100枚を測定して星の分類型を定めたのはA.J.キャノンである。
