A Chinese painter from the mid-Tang Dynasty, from the late 8th century to the early 9th century. Dates of birth and death unknown. Born in Chang'an. Officially held the position of Chief Secretary of the Right Guard. A representative flower and bird painter of the Tang Dynasty, he was skilled in small works such as branch paintings and large murals. He was especially praised for the beauty of his colors.
