A mountain range that runs through northern Mongolia. It is also called the Khentii. Its total length is about 250 km. Its average elevation is 2000 m. Its highest peak is Asrarut Khairkhan at 2799 m. It is the source of the Kherlen River and other rivers. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Mongol tribe used this mountain as one of their bases.
