In Poland, there is the site of a pile dwelling settlement in Biskupin thought to date back to around 500 B.C., where wooden paths and dwellings remain, and simple wooden carved statues of gods have been found in Wolin and other places from the Christian era, but full-scale architectural and artistic activity began after the adoption of Christianity. From the 9th century, rotunda-style churches (such as St. Mary's Church in the Wawel Castle in Krakow) were already built in the south, mainly in Krakow, indicating the spread of Christianity from Moravia.

ポーランドの地には，ビスクーピンBiskupinに前500年前後と考えられる杭上住居の集落址があり，木の敷き道や住居が残り，また紀元後には，ボリンWolinなどで発見されている単純な木彫の神像があるが，本格的な建築，芸術活動はキリスト教受容以降のことである。すでに9世紀よりクラクフを中心として南部に，ロトンダ形式の教会堂(クラクフのバベルWawel城内の聖マリア教会など)が建てられ，モラビアよりのキリスト教伝道を示す。
